Here’s a simple, straightforward explanation on what “cap and trade” means. So any time you hear someone say “cap and trade” as it relates to “climate change” or “global warming”, you’ll know what the heck that person is talking about.

H.R. 2998 – American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 or the Waxman-Markey Act is currently being considered in the U.S. Senate. Since they received H.R. 2998 from the U.S. House, Senate Democrats have been formulating several approaches to take on promoting and selling the “climate change” bill [Article – Senate Democrats Prep Team Girds for Climate Battle].

One of the code words used for the methods and/or techniques politicians employ to sway votes is called “pressure”. With help from lobbyists and special interest groups, “pressure” is applied in the form of “goodies” or “earmarks” offered as bribes. Bribes are offered in an attempt to sway a politician’s opinion on a piece of legislation. The bribe givers hope that the bribe takers will honor a bribe or several bribes by voting for or against a bill or set of bills. In the case of H.R. 2998, promoters of the bill are seeking votes for the legislation, which they know is a “cap and trade” or as I like to call it, “cap and tax”, “sap and degrade”, “Taxman-Malarkey”, “Destroy the American Economy” bill. If bribes do not work on any “hard cases”, threats and blackmail are the next forms of “pressure” to be applied. Believe it or not, a few politicians in U.S. Congress are not what one calls “squeaky-clean”; therefore, it would be easy to dig up as much dirt as possible to use against someone in an arm-twisting effort. Unless a politician doesn’t care about his or her political career or can successfully suffer through any “slings and arrows”, a favorable outcome is usually achieved [Article – Southern Democrats Feel Pressure from Obama Agenda]. We currently have a rather large group of leftist politicians in Washington, D.C. who will do and say anything, go to any length and stoop to any level to ensure that their socio-Marxist plans are realized.

The so-called “climate change” bill, which is no more than a tool that will be used to oppressively tax the American people, along with another tax enslavement mechanism in the so-called “health care reform” bill, will disfigure, disable and devastate the United States economically and socially. Such damage will be irreparable and generati0ns of Americans will pay dearly for any political misdeeds that may be committed now.
