The conspiracy theorist in me thinks that she was set in place by the DNC to “poison the well”, so to speak.

I also heard somewhere that if she would have been elected, she was going to switch to the Democrat party; however, that is an unconfirmed report.

Whatever the case, the race in New York’s 23rd district is certainly one to keep a close eye on. I dare say that if the elections in New York, New Jersey and Virginia all go in favor of the candidates who are not Democrats, that would be sending a message to President Obama and leftists in U.S. Congress.

Quite a few conservative-leaning political figures (one of whom was ex-Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin) have endorsed Doug Hoffman, who claims to be a “Reagan conservative”.

If, and I say if Hoffman wins in New York, that would put a sizable dent in the Republican’s theory that if one votes for a third party candidate in a hotly-contested political race, one may as well vote for the Democrat candidate.

This ‘evangelical dominance’ you somehow attribute to this situation is extremely one-dimensional of you.

1st: If this ‘dominance’ actually existed then Gov. Huckabee (generally referred to as “the Huckster” here) would have been the GOP nominee in 2008 instead of Sen. McCain (whom I generally refer to as “McRino”).

2nd: Scozzofava’s positions are anything but “Republican” – she supports: Card Check, Obama’s Stimulus, bailouts, Cap and Trade, Obamacare…etc – furthermore she supports abortion and gay marriage. Note I’ve put the last two at the end for good reason…the first set proves she holds no “GOP economic” policy position and the second set proves she holds no “GOP moral” policy position.

3rd: Scozzofava’s and Owens’ positions are the same on 95% of the issues. It is no surprise to me that she endorsed the “D” since, in this case, they are the same on so many issues. She pledge to caucus with the Rs is about the only difference between the two.

Many in the media (see Newt) have made the case (in many more words) that since she has an “R” after her name she deserves both GOP and Conservative support/votes. This position begs the voter to follow the invalid political axiom of “Party before Politics”. What is being shown to the GOP specifically and the nation in general in this race is Americans are sick of sending people to Washington who don’t do their jobs – represent their constituencies. Any candidate who wishes to bear the label of “R” for an election in the future had better pay attention to this race. If they don’t then they will find themselves in the same position.

The TEA party movement is on full display in this race and is the primary reason Mr. Hoffman is leading. RINOs beware as this is the first domino that will fall.

The voting hasn’t even started and people are already starting to question the reliability of the New York voting system [Article - Will every vote count?]. Are these the tactics that Hoffman’s opposition is choosing to employ or just a funny coincidence? I’ll leave the decision to the readers.

But, Vlad the Invader’s wisely working the Boy Wonder like a poker player. He knows the Israelis will bomb Iran back to the Stone Age… so the Kremilin is just milking all sides for all they can get before he leaves Tehran to fend for themselves-

And he’ll be wringing Obama for plenty more concessions along the way… these KGB guys know a mark when they see one.

He ran on a campaign of literally nothing. Empty promises and slogans mesmerized voters so much that they voted with their hearts and not their minds: Somebody who’s not a Clinton or Bush, the first black president, hope and change, etc.

As you said, now that he’s actually President, running a campaign does not even scratch the surface when it comes to running a country like the United States. It’s exactly what his gaffe-a-matic Vice President said when he was running against Obama during the Democrat presidential primaries: “The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.”

I don’t find myself agreeing with Vice President Biden on everything, but I do agree with his analysis of President Obama. We are now suffering from the results of Biden’s analysis.

They’re doing a good job making America poorer and weaker.

The way things are going, we will be ripe for the picking, if a truly imperialistic country wants to make a land grab. They won’t even have to fire a shot.

Instead, they choose to attack the firm that did the study by labeling them as being shills for “big” insurance and doing the will of those who stand to lose money as a result of the passage of a health care (insurance) reform bill [Article - Dems scramble after warning from health insurers].

Should this surprise anybody? Obama and leftist Dems in U.S. Congress want to ram through their mystically secret (since they won’t release a draft for consideration) health care (insurance) reform bill in order to get what they want. What they want is going to so radically change America that in their eyes, it will be worth losing a few seats come the next election cycle.

They realize what they are doing is destroying the country…and they don’t care. As John Milton wrote in his poem, Paradise Lost: “It is better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven.”

Obama and Gore and the rest of the lefties are absolutely devoted to the idea of equality of outcomes, not just equality of opportunity.

Therefore, if America is more successful than other nations (and it is), it must be brought down to the level of other nations… in other words, Americans must be made poorer!

Global warming/climate change is just the latest tool to try to do that.
