Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning Holding To His Guns

Ignoring both Democrats and fellow Republicans, Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) is holding to his guns by preventing unemployment benefits extension from going through.  The reason?  Funding.  All that Senator Bunning wants is for funds from unspent stimulus to be used for the benefits extensions.

Statist Senate Democrats, left-wing media, and leftist bloggers are criticising Bunning for the stalling tactic.  Evil Republican Jim Bunning is denying the unemployed their benefits.  Perhaps they will blame Bunning for killing unemployed Americans?  Statists point to Bunning’s silence during the G.W. Bush years of defense spending and tax cuts, which supposedly added to the deficit [Article – 1. Top Democrats look to shame Bunning on unemployment benefits filibuster | 2. Unemployment benefits end today; extension not approved by Senate].

Here’s where the statists are wrong:

1. The Bush tax cuts increased government revenue.  How?  Employers could afford to hire more people to work.  The fewer people unemployed, the more that entitlements are reduced.  The more people who were working, the more tax base the government had.  The more tax base the government had, the more tax revenue that was collected.

2.  Defense spending is a necessary part of the federal budget.  The only part of the budget that is larger than defense spending is entitlement spending [Article – Entitlements Crowd Out Defense Spending, and It’s Only Getting Worse].  The statists who hate the military will never understand, nor recognize that fact.  This would also explain their ignorant comments on the defense budget.  They tried again and again over the years to defund our military out of existence.  Their disdain for the country’s servicemen and women is well-documented.  None of them can say they are patriotic Americans and that they support the troops while taking their funding away at the same time.  That is something two-faced liars do.

3.  The issue at hand is not dealing with defense spending or tax cuts.  The issue is how to pay for unemployment benefits.  The money for stimulus has already been allocated.  Why not use some of those funds for unemployment extensions?  This garbage about being against the rules should not be a problem for the current Congress and presidential administration, since they have consistently broken the rules over the past year anyway.

4.  Nobody would be talking about extending unemployment benefits if the Obama stimulus would have worked in the first place [Article – 1. Obama Administration Falsifying Stimulus Job Numbers

The Obama administration is being accused of not being exactly honest about jobs “stimu-less” has saved or created:

You know it’s getting bad for the most highly esteemed potentate and savior of the world and his horde of Chicago-style thugonomists when state-controlled media can’t even say anything nice about Obamanomics.

Obamanomics: FAIL

How is Obamanomics working for us lately? Has there been job creation such has not been seen since the Reagan years? Are there “shovel ready” jobs popping up everywhere? Is unemployment in the eight to nine percent range? Is the dollar rebounding and strengthening in value? Is the United States still ensconced as a financial and economic power?

Van Jones Down…But Is He Out?

On Sunday, the 6th of September, Van Jones resigned as “green” jobs advisor or “czar” to President Obama [Article – Van Jones resigns amid controversy]. It’s interesting to note that Obama did not ask for his resignation, according to statements made by another one of his senior advisors:

Van Jones has damaged President Obama’s credibility even more. This is not the least bit helpful for Obama. To prevent further damage, the President needs to remove anybody with extreme, radical far-left views from the White House. So far, he has not done that. Even though Van Jones is officially gone, is he going to really be “gone” or out of the White House? It will certainly not be surprising that Mr. Jones is found to be advising Obama in some “unofficial” capacity [Article – Van Jones Scandal Threatens Obama Presidency].

Van Jones is just the tip of a rather insidiously imposing iceberg. Many more people serving as Obama’s “czars” have questionable credentials and radical ideological views. I doubt they all suddenly changed their attitudes and views overnight. They have not even been properly vetted. I think the vetting needs to be done by concerned American citizens. Obama’s “czars” need to be investigated and if they are of the same ilk as Van Jones, they need to dismissed. This will not stop them from “advising” President Obama, but it will put Obama and his administration on notice that people are watching and will not tolerate leftist radicals to shape, re-shape and/or dictate national policy.

Van Jones And The “Green Revolution”

Self-avowed communist and 9/11 “truther” Van Jones, who is President Obama’s “green” job “czar”, mentions revolution through the green movement (see video below).

This has already received plenty of air time and it appears Mr. Jones might be shown the door by the Obama administration [Article – ‘Green Jobs’ Adviser’s Past Could Stir Trouble for White House at Critical Time]. Of course, by being “shown the door” I mean the door to the room where Tom Daschle is sitting as an unofficial advisor to the President. Of course, all Obama has to do is appoint another extreme radical who is just as bad or worse than Van Jones, although he can’t get much worse. Sadly, there are plenty of Marxist radicals to choose from in this country.

Who was responsible for vetting Mr. Jones? More importantly, didn’t the Obama administration know who Van Jones was before they made him an advisor to President Obama? What did White House Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett say about Van Jones when he was in Oakland, California [Article – Timing Of Protest Is Suspect]? Is this another example of the kind of transparency that Obama promised? Should we take Obama’s advice and judge him by the people who surround him [Article – Obama: ‘Judge me by the people who surround me’]?

Hope and change! Skin in the game! Sacrifice! Sacrifice!

“Cash For Clunkers” Not Such A Good Deal For Many

“Cash for clunkers”, C.A.R.S. or whatever you want to call it: I call it one of the reasons why big government has no business in business. Anything the government tried to make “better” or “more efficient” has met with abject failure. Many politicians in Washington D.C., who are nothing more than highly educated imbeciles, think they know how to do everything better than those who actually have experience in the labor force or in running a business. When they “fix” what they perceive to be a problem, they tend to create more problems. Please read the following articles to see what I mean:

Joe Biden: Shovel-Ready All Around Us

From a July 16, 2009 WaPo article entitled, “Up Next: Biden vs. Cantor“:

“Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) landed a fresh blow in a tit-for-tat battle with Vice President Biden today after the latter accused the senior Republican lawmaker of smearing the administration’s $787 billion stimulus package.

Cantor called an afternoon news conference to pre-empt remarks Biden is expected to make today in Richmond in support of the recovery bill, excerpts of which were obtained in advance by The Washington Post.

‘To those who say that our economic decisions ‘have not produced jobs, have not produced and simply have not worked’ I say, take a look around,’ Biden will say while visiting Cantor’s home district.

‘I say, ‘Don’t let your opposition to the Recovery Act blind you to its results. Come see what I see everywhere I go: workers rehired, factories reopened, cops on the street, teachers in the classroom, progress toward getting our economy back on the move.’

Without naming Cantor directly, the rhetorical assault is aimed squarely at the Richmond lawmaker, who has helped lead the Republican Party to its most effective message since Obama became president: that Obama’s stimulus bill has not produced jobs.”

Oh yes, we are taking a look around right now Mr. Gaffe-a-Matic. I have to hand it to the teachers in Virginia. They are not even waiting for the next school year to begin. They are all getting right to work during the Summer break, according to Joe “My Foot Tastes Really Good” Biden.

I think Joe’s imagination is working overtime because he’s seeing things that we aren’t seeing. Wait, I have found what Vice President Biden says  is proof that “stimu-less” is working. I have pictorial evidence of shovel-ready projects currently taking place: Read More…

Cap And Trade Employment Or Unemployment?

What will cap and trade mean for the American people if H.R. 2998 – American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 or the “Waxman-Markey” bill is passed and signed into law [Article – Waxman-Markey cap-and-trade bill stuffed full of unpleasant surprises]?

The “cap” part refers to the number of Americans who will still be employed: Once the number of those in less “green”, less environmentally-friendly jobs are no longer employed, an acceptable employment “cap” will have been reached. The “trade” part means what unemployed Americans will be experiencing: “Trading” a rewarding job that existed before cap and trade for a less rewarding, go-nowhere “green” job [Article – 1. Rep. The Real Obama—An Insidious Threat

Do you want to know what President Barack Obama really thinks about the Americans and the American dream? Do you want to know how much of an insidious threat to the United States of America the current president is? Watch and listen to what our anti-capitalist chosen one had to say to Arizona State University graduates in his commencement speech (three-part video):

Did you listen to what our esteemed president said? How is this an encouraging speech to those graduates? Oh yes, they cheered and cheered. It is mind-boggling to me how such so-called educated people would cheer and applaud anything that Obama spoke about in his speech. If they were a bunch of Obamatons caught up in the moment or truly genuine in their response is open to conjecture.

What is the purpose of higher education if it isn’t it to improve oneself by achievement and exercising individualism? What is the point of bettering oneself if according to Obama they are ruthlessly Read More…

Obama Camp Says Not To Expect Instant Miracles

Premier Barack Obama’s aides tell Americans not to expect instant miracles from stimulus (Read). They go on to say that the stimulus will help “eventually”. Sorry Obamaniacs, it looks like you’ll have to go on paying your mortgages and car payments for a little longer, provided that you are not out of a job or foreclosed upon first.
