Deep Blue New York Only Gives Obama 45 Percent Approval
Normally I’m a poll skeptic, and I ain’t changing that position, but this one was just too good to pass up.
A stunning new survey gives the president a negative approval rating in the Empire State for the first time, with just 45 percent approval and 49 percent disapproval among voters, according to the latest Quinnipiac University poll.
That’s a sharp turnaround from June, when Obama’s New York popularity was a healthy 57-38.
In the 2008 presidential election, Obama carried New York with 63 percent of the vote.
Note, this is New York, where the political color is about as deep blue as the Yankee caps. This state hasn’t gone for the Republican candidate since at least 1994, possibly longer, that’s the latest I can find on a quick search. And they’re only giving Obama 45% approval, even considering that most polls skew left?
The One is in deep political trouble.
