Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has thrown down the gauntlet again:
The plan from House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) would collapse the current system of six tax brackets for individuals into two marginal rates: 10 percent and 25 percent, according to GOP aides. The proposal would also lower the top corporate tax rate to 25 percent, and scrap the Alternative Minimum Tax.
Just another way the government spends your tax dollars:
Federal agencies spent at least $945 million on contracts for advertising services in fiscal year 2010, and that sum doesn’t include all public communications expenditures in the agencies reviewed or even all of the executive branch, a congressional report out last week shows.
As if there was any doubt about them being “unholy”…
“I find it absolutely ludicrous that the atheists who say they don’t believe in God have to erase something that they don’t believe in,” [associate pastor Glen] Copple told FoxNews.com. “They were just desperate for a little attention for their cause. Only two of them showed up, it wasn’t a big gathering.”
How would you like to get taxpayer dollars to sell your own products to yourself? One company figured out how.
A heavily subsidized solar company received a U.S. taxpayer loan guarantee to sell solar panels to itself.
First Solar is the company. The subsidy came from the Export-Import Bank, which President Obama and Harry Reid are currently fighting to extend and expand. The underlying issue is how Obama’s insistence on green-energy subsidies and export subsidies manifests itself as rank corporate welfare.
Friend-of-a-friend Sarah Hoyt looks at the lefty accusations that the GOP is waging a “war on women” and finds something quite different:
Let me tell you what war is, okay?
War is where the enemy decimates your numbers – like, say in China where abortion is killing mostly females.
War is where you are kept from learning – like in most Arab countries, where women have restrictions placed on their education.
War is where your houses are burned, your children taken away into slavery, your goods looted, and you are dragged away in chains.
President Obama has a much-ballyhooed plan to release gas from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR), in hopes of lowering gas prices enough to secure re-election. Unfortunately for him, research by the Heritage Foundation seems to indicate that it’s not going to work, at least not long enough.
Hope your day goes better than Simon’s:
