Only one campaign would have the audacity to serve pizza at a campaign dinner and charge $10,000 a (silver) plate.
President Barack Obama is coming to the Motor City for a $1 million pizza party being thrown for him compliments of Denise Ilitch, daughter of Little Caesars’ founders Mike and Marian Ilitch. Ilitch is opening her home April 18 for the fundraiser where movers and shakers are being asked to pony up thousands to add to his re-election coffer while getting a chance to rub shoulders with the most powerful man on the planet. “I’m honored to have been asked,” by the Obama campaign to host,” Ilitch said of the event she and husband, Jim Scalici, will hold at their Metro Detroit home. She made the comments on “Michigan Matters” when asked about media reports.
Imagine if Mitt Romney, or any previous GOP candidate, published a photo of his campaign “army” that had very few, if any, black or brown faces in it. Can you imagine how the leftymedia would react?
Do you think we’ll see the same reaction about this photo of the Obama “army”?
If Obama thought that his rhetoric against the Supreme Court was going to harm their popularity, he seems to have miscalculated badly.
Just before the highly publicized hearing on the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care law, ratings for the U.S. Supreme Court had fallen to the lowest level ever measured by Rasmussen Reports. Now, following the hearings, approval of the court is way up.
Over the weekend Timothy Cardinal Dolan was on Face the Nation, and he spoke out on many issues, including separation of church and state, whether you should vote for or against Romney because he’s a Mormon, and of course the mandate that religious institutions and companies have to provide contraception coverage.
The video is below the fold. If you’re just interested in his comments on the mandate, it starts about 5:15 in the clip.
