Rep. Duncan Hunter Wants To Update Unemployment Calculation

Sounds like a common-sense idea to me:

Rep. Duncan D. Hunter (R-Calif.) intends to press GOP leaders to move his bill to include the number of individuals who gave up looking for work in the percentage of jobless claims.

“Unemployed” means that you don’t have a job, so those that have given up looking for a job should be included in the unemployment figure. It’s perfectly logical.

However, it would embarrass The One, so expect Democrats to fight tooth and nail to stop it from happening. Harry Reid will probably sit on the bill if it ever makes it to the Senate.
