Obama Adds “Clean Coal” To Website

Think maybe he got scared by losing 40% of the Democratic primary vote in a strong coal state?

The Obama campaign added a section on “clean coal” to its website this week after House Republicans alleged that the president’s “all-of-the-above” energy plan neglected the fossil fuel.

Of course, the devil is always in the details, and in this case it’s likely in the word “clean.” Obama and his EPA can still demand that coal plants meet cleanliness standards that are all but impossible to reach, thus keeping their green friends happy.

I also don’t think voters in coal states are going to be fooled by this last-minute, inspired by primaries change in the website. The voters in those states can smell a purely political move, and that’s what this is.
