Obama As Forrest Gump

If you remember the 1994 film Forrest Gump, the title character finds himself as part of the biggest events in the 20th century. Not satisfied with being one-upped by a fictional character from nearly two decades ago, the Narcissist-in-Chief has inserted himself into the biographies of quite a few past Presidents:

Talk about giving yourself a pat on the back, when you read Reagan’s bio you will find that Obama is continuing his good work on the Regan [sic] tax reform with his own budget known nationwide as the “Buffet Rule.” According to the New York Post, this “sounded like a joke” at first, but come to find out it wasn’t.

This is so outrageous it almost needs no commentary. For Obama to go back into just about every President since Coolidge (Ford, for some reason, got missed) and proclaim that they are just precursors to his ascension is ego at its worst.

It also works well as an example of how Obama sees the world: everything before January 20, 2009 is mere prologue to the reign of King Barack the First, in his mind. From the Greek columns of his 2008 campaign to this, Obama has always seen the Presidency and indeed the country as about himself, first, last, and always. That’s why he shows no shame at the continuous games of golf, sending his wife on a $400,000 vacation to Spain when many voters are planning “staycations,” dinners with wagyu beef to celebrate spending more government money, and so on and so forth. In his mind, why should he feel shame, it’s all about him!

Reagan is claimed to have said, “There is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn’t mind who gets the credit.” That worldview is completely foreign to Obama, who is all about getting all the credit he can for himself — even undeserved credit — and he’s willing to literally rewrite history to get it.

Obama certainly lives in a constructed fantasy land. He is a legend in his own mind just ask him.
