Congressman Joe Wilson To President Obama: Liar!

Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) obviously had enough of Obama’s finger-pointing and accusations when he basically called President Obama a liar. Congressman Wilson’s exclamation prompted looks of disgust from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Joe Biden, as well as shouts of “Shame!” from several Democrat members in attendance. To be sure, Wilson will be receiving an abundance of calls and E-mails from infuriated American citizens who support President Obama and/or his agenda. Wilson later apologized for his outburst, but the focus of Wilson’s anger was on what the President was saying all throughout yesterday’s speech to U.S. Congress [Article – Barack Obama health care speech: Republican calls president a liar].

The facts speak for themselves and analyses of H.R. 3200 have been done over the past couple of months. Leftist Politicians And Media Outlets Continue To Demonize Average Americans

Leftist politicians and media talking heads are focusing on average American citizens who don’t want increased government control of their everyday lives. They have concentrated their efforts on demonizing those very Americans who don’t want a government takeover of the U.S. health care system. They have enlisted their “community organizing” and special interest groups to intimidate ordinary Americans. So far, they have accused concerned American citizens who are more informed about health care reform legislation than they are, of being organized, while at the same time disorganized, unruly, swastika-carrying, RNC and anti-health care reform lobbyist-funded Nazi mobs and “astroturf”. So much for the caring, compassionate, civil and tolerant left.

Now the Marxist George Soros has thrown his hat into the ring with a huge contribution to Health Care For America Now, a group dedicated to passing Obama’s health care plan [Article – Meet The New Health Czar]. Of course, Soros may be one of the world’s biggest leftist hypocrites. He is a billionaire, ladies and gentlemen. The very type of person that President Obama and the American left is supposed to hate. Soros does not have to worry about his health care because he can afford it, no matter what the cost is. All Mr. Soros cares about himself and the destruction of the United States of America. Mr. Soros is perfectly fine with Americans intimidating other Americans. He is perfectly fine that everything in our country is taken over by the government. To him, it doesn’t matter how we get there as long as we get there.

Waxman Threatens A Floor Vote On Health Care Reform

U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman, Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is threatening to take H.R. 3200 – America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 to a floor vote if “Blue Dog” Democrats refuse to break ranks and join the Republicans in voting against H.R. 3200 [Article – House Dems threaten floor vote to break impasse].

Why does Congressman Waxman want a quick floor vote? Because leftist Democrats like Mr. Waxman know that the longer the legislation is out there for all to investigate, the more resistance there will be against passing the bill. In other words, leftist Democrats like Waxman who think they are above reproach and who think they know so much better than we do on how to manage our own health care, want to work against the will of the American people to ram their public health care “option” down our throats [Article – Pelosi: House Dems have the votes on health care].

Leftist Democrats like Waxman want more government control of the masses. What better way to control people than through health care:

Are you fat? You’re going to lose weight or we’ll penalize you at the rate of “x”. Are you drinking too much pop and sugary juices? Too bad, you’ll have to stop drinking those things or we’ll penalize you at the rate of “x”. Are you eating foods that we deem unhealthy for you? Oh they might taste good, but you’d better stop eating those things or we’ll penalize you at the rate of “x”.

Are you over a certain age (e.g., 70 years old)? Too bad, your health care costs can no longer be justified as being necessary enough for us to provide coverage for you because you’re too old and if you don’t have serious health problems now due to old age, you’ll have them later—in the meantime, you want counseling so that we can ease your mental and emotional suffering before your impending death?

You want life-saving surgery? You want to continue to take the medication you need? You want to receive treatment for a serious illness? Do as we say and you’ll get what you need.

You want private health care? Good luck paying for it, much less finding a doctor who will treat you. Private health care is for us elitist, statist, Marxist, leftist, socialist hypocrites [Article – Why won’t Congress enroll in gov’t health care?]. You want to opt out of public health care coverage? Sure! For a penalty of 2.5 percent of your pay. If you’re an employer and you want your employees to have the choice of getting their own private health insurance, you can do that too—for a penalty of 8.0 percent of your company’s payroll.

Since nobody will be allowed to exercise their own freedom of choice and get their own health care coverage, they’ll just have to suffer and/or die with or without the public “option” of health care.

Control means power and power means unlimited authority to say and do whatever one in power wants. That is the statist’s, leftist’s, Marxist’s, socialist’s and elitist’s main goal. They might differ slightly in their ideological agendas, but their goal is the same.

Now it’s up to “Blue Dog” Democrats and Republicans to block Congressman Waxman’s (with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s blessing) latest political stunt.

House Dems: Pelosi Doesn’t Have The Votes To Pass ObamaCare

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Indiana Democrat Baron Hill, a Blue Dog congressman negotiating with leaders on health care, disagreed with Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s statement Wednesday that Democrats have the votes to pass health care in the House.

“I think the Speaker was well intended because she was hearing optimistic things, but I don’t believe there are the votes on the floor as of right now,” he said Wednesday.

Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, who is trying to change the bill to make it clear it would not use taxpayer money for abortions, also disagreed with the Speaker.

“It would be easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle than to pass this bill,” said Stupak.

Even though CNN doesn’t specify, Stupak is also a Democrat.

Let’s hope the cracks keep appearing until this monstrosity of a bill completely falls apart.

Congressional Democrats Trying To Rush Health Care Reform Bill Through

In the spirit of “civility”, “integrity”, “bipartisanship” and “transparency”; congressional Democrats are hurriedly trying to push a health care reform bill through without a thorough reading and debate by the Republican members of Congress. Why?

Possibly because they know the legislation is flawed and contains “landmines” that they don’t want the public to see? Could it be that they know it wouldn’t pass muster because it opens the door to government-run health care and it would kill the health insurance industry? Perhaps the Democrats who want the bill rushed through know that the legislation promotes substandard care, no freedom of consumer/patient choice and locks health care professionals in to less-than-desirable government rates for services rendered? Could it also be that it makes provision for tasty special interest kickbacks and includes more pork projects? How about the trillion-dollar price tag and additional taxpayer burden?

Whatever the reason, it is a rather suspicious set of circumstances. If they know that most or all Republicans will object to it, how are they going to get past the objections of the “Blue Dog” Democrats as well? You can count on leftist Democrats to try to pressure and strong-arm conservative Democrats into going along with their evil plans…much to the impending harm of the American people [Article – 1. Was Congress Really In The Dark About CIA Plan?

As a follow-up to Wapiti’s excellent post this morning, let me just ask one simple question:

Did Congressional Democrats not read the New York Times in 2002?

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14 ? The Bush administration has prepared a list of terrorist leaders the Central Intelligence Agency is authorized to kill, if capture is impractical and civilian casualties can be minimized, senior military and intelligence officials said.

The previously undisclosed C.I.A. list includes key Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden and his chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, as well as other principal figures from Al Qaeda and affiliated terrorist groups, the officials said. The names of about two dozen terrorist leaders have recently been on the lethal-force list, officials said. “It’s the worst of the worst,” an official said.

President Bush has provided written legal authority to the C.I.A. to hunt down and kill the terrorists without seeking further approval each time the agency is about to stage an operation. Some officials said the terrorist list was known as the “high-value target list.” A spokesman for the White House declined to discuss the list or issues involving the use of lethal force against terrorists. A spokesman for the C.I.A. also declined to comment on the list.

Despite the authority given to the agency, Mr. Bush has not waived the executive order banning assassinations, officials said. The presidential authority to kill terrorists defines operatives of Al Qaeda as enemy combatants and thus legitimate targets for lethal force.

Mr. Bush issued a presidential finding last year, after the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington, providing the basic executive and legal authority for the C.I.A. to either kill or capture terrorist leaders. Initially, the agency used that authority to hunt for Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan. That authority was the basis for the C.I.A.’s attempts to find and kill or capture Mr. Bin laden and other Qaeda leaders during the war in Afghanistan.

The creation of the secret list is part of the expanded C.I.A. effort to hunt and kill or capture Qaeda operatives far from traditional battlefields, in countries like Yemen.

The president is not legally required to approve each name added to the list, nor is the C.I.A. required to obtain presidential approval for specific attacks, although officials said Mr. Bush had been kept well informed about the agency’s operations.

That seems like a pretty good summation of the plan that is at the center of this kerfuffle, doesn’t it?

I’d love to see Her Speakerness Pelosi and the other lefties in Congress call Former Veep Cheney to testify in front of some committee on national TV, and then see Cheney whip out a copy of this particular Times and ask them if they don’t bother to read the news.

To modify a phrase, that would be entertainment.

Congress “Kept In The Dark” About CIA Al Qaeda Plan?

Another issue that can be classified and filed under the congressional “need to know basis” category…and most members of U.S. Congress don’t need to know. However, there are those in Congress who insist that they know everything the President of the United States knows. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Not in their “job description”.

Case in point: Members of U.S. Congress are crying “foul” over the former Bush administration’s attempts to work with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in an effort to capture or kill top Al Qaeda operatives. The plan, which was not fully operational, was in place since 2001. The program was scrapped by current CIA Director Leon Panetta [Article – CIA Had Secret Al Qaeda Plan].

If this is an attempt by leftist Democrats to deflect attention from Nancy Pelosi and the possibility that she lied about not knowing about water boarding, they had better try harder. It is not even a “smoking gun” issue. It will get leftist media attention and the attention of leftist Americans, especially the lunatic left-wingers, since the issue has ties to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. As we know, anything to foment leftist loathing of Bush and Cheney will get moved into the spotlight.

The real issue behind this Bush-Cheney-CIA smokescreen is that House Speaker Pelosi was caught in a lie and her leftist pals are trying all they can to effect damage control. Whatever power and/or money they are receiving as long as Pelosi is Speaker remains to be seen.

An underlying issue is that there are 535 wannabe presidents in U.S. Congress who want to know and do everything that is solely the constitutional duty of the President. Never mind that we have some members of U.S. Congress who can’t seem to keep their mouths shut when it comes to secret or top secret information, as has now proven to be the case in this instance.

The Privileges Of Being A Politician—Corruption Goes On Unchecked

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has not been removed from her position of power because of her lies on water boarding and the CIA [Article – ]. In an effort to cover over her lies and deflect attention, one would have thought her pathetic stammering and stuttering through bizarre and rather incredible explanations and her frantic backpedaling would have sealed the deal on her removal; however, Pelosi has been successful in slithering out of the spotlight and continues to serve in a position of leadership…for now [Article – 1. Several other politicians in the U.S. Congress are supposed to be under investigation, but what has happened so far [Post – Democrats and the Culture of Corruption – A Quick Review]? Has anybody heard any results from investigations or measures taken to punish offenders? Don’t rely on “mainstream” media outlets. Even Fox News has been silent. The Republicans, who are usually very quick and efficient at dismissing wrongdoers in their party, are doing nothing about the suspected wrongdoers on their side of the aisle. Why? If any of those people would have been you or me or if they would have worked in private industry, there would have been relentless inquiries and investigations. If the results of any investigations proved unfavorable for the offending party, reprimands, demotions and/or firings would have resulted.

The level of hypocrisy in the political arena appears to have no bounds. There is one set of rules for elitist, corrupt politicians and another set of rules for the rest of us. When are people going to stand up and call for action against our so-called leaders who turn out to be miscreants and who are proving to be a disgrace to their office? Nobody has to wait until the next election, but until people start speaking out and taking action against corrupt politicians at any level of government, the status quo will continue to exist.

Bring It On

Democrats want to make Pelosi the face of their party in 2010:

GOP strategists have been signaling that they intend to make the San Francisco liberal an issue in the coming mid-term elections, particularly her claims that the CIA misled her during a 2002 briefing about harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding.

But Bruce Braley , D-Iowa, said he believes that rather than lying low, Pelosi should travel to competitive districts to counter GOP attacks.

Pelosi can boost her party by reaching out to swing voters and emphasizing her role as a grandmother and making the most of her outgoing personality, Braley says.

“She has a great capacity to listen and to show empathy for what people are going through. … It’s much different for people to see those caricatures of her on television, and then to be standing next to someone who is real and who has an ability to connect with you,” Braley said of Pelosi, the daughter and sister of former Baltimore mayors and a product of that city’s Little Italy neighborhood.

Bring it on, Braley.

You want to give GOP candidates in states across the Union the chance to run against Pelosi, who’s told so many stories about the CIA briefings on waterboarding that she keeps getting tangled in her conflicting claims?

You want to link your candidates in those states to the Speaker who is stonewalling the PMA Group investigation in the House, to the point that the New York Times feels compelled to tell House Democrats to basically go around her?

I forget who, but a wise man once said, “when your opponent is making a mistake, don’t interrupt him.”

So you go right ahead and make Pelosi the face of the 2010 Democrats, Mr. Braley.

Pelosi Has Lost The NY Times

Even the Bible of left-liberalism, the New York Times, seems to be saying that Pelosi is messing up:

The House Democratic leadership should have the gumption to open its own ethics inquiry into members who awarded rich contracts to PMA’s clients and received handsome political donations from a grateful roster. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is reportedly at odds with her majority leader, Steny Hoyer, who wants to defuse Republican criticism with an ethics committee resolution. The speaker would be wise to get ahead of the scandal.

Kudos to the NYT for trying to get Her Speakerness to do the right thing. However, I doubt that they’ll succeed.

Pay No Attention To Pelosi’s Many Lies

That seems to be the message from House Democrats:

House Democrats on Thursday defeated a Republican push to investigate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that the CIA misled her in 2002 about whether waterboarding had been used against terrorism suspects.

Republicans Ron Paul of Texas and Walter Jones of North Carolina joined Democrats in voting 252-172 to block the measure, which would have created a bipartisan congressional panel. Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, sponsored the resolution.

So, let me get this straight… we can indict, prosecute, and convict one man on the basis of one mis-remembered conversation (Scooter Libby), but it’s beyond the pale to set up a bipartisan panel to look into whether or not Pelosi is speaking the truth when she says the CIA always lies?

This is a double-standard on stilts. Welcome to America under the control of Democrats. Whatever Republicans do is wrong, whatever Democrats do is right.

Take THAT, Speaker Pelosi!

The President of the Association of Former Intelligence Officers offers this statement in response to Her Speakerness’ on-again-off-again accusation that the CIA lied:

Those CIA officers chosen to brief the Congress, and especially the intelligence committees, are very senior, experienced officers, who well know the reputation and future of the CIA, as well as their own jobs, are on the line should they be perceived as not telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Such restrictions, however, do not apply to members of the Congress when they then appear before the public.

That’s gonna leave a mark.
