ACORN In Baltimore Involved In Prostitution Scandal

Say it isn’t so again!

ACORN, Obama’s favorite “community organizing” conglomerate, is involved in yet another instance of criminal activity.

Update and Correction: The ACORN workers shown in the video have been “fired” [Article – 2 ACORN Employees Fired, Could Face Criminal Charges]. Also, I humbly apologize for incorrectly defining what the ACORN workers did as “criminal activity”. The ACORN workers have not been arrested or charged with a crime…yet. Again, my apologies for the faux pas.

This time, ACORN members are shown on a video recording assisting a “pimp” and “prostitute” (actually undercover investigators) in skirting around those pesky legalities governing underage prostitution and prostitution in general. Here is the shocking video (two parts):

Congressman Joe Wilson To President Obama: Liar!

Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) obviously had enough of Obama’s finger-pointing and accusations when he basically called President Obama a liar. Congressman Wilson’s exclamation prompted looks of disgust from Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Joe Biden, as well as shouts of “Shame!” from several Democrat members in attendance. To be sure, Wilson will be receiving an abundance of calls and E-mails from infuriated American citizens who support President Obama and/or his agenda. Wilson later apologized for his outburst, but the focus of Wilson’s anger was on what the President was saying all throughout yesterday’s speech to U.S. Congress [Article – Barack Obama health care speech: Republican calls president a liar].

The facts speak for themselves and analyses of H.R. 3200 have been done over the past couple of months. Leftist politicians and proponents of government-run health care have played their word games during the health care reform debate by saying that what opponents of government-run health care or the “public option” (now health care co-ops?) have been saying what is in the bill is not in the bill. They have even called their opponents liars. President Obama has been one of those who has called government-run health care opponents liars.

New Inquiry Into Black Panthers Case

This could be trouble for Attorney General Holder:

The Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility has begun an official inquiry into the dismissal in May of a civil complaint against the New Black Panther Party and two of its members who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place during the November general elections.

The inquiry is disclosed in an Aug. 28 letter to Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, the ranking Republican on the House Judiciary Committee who first raised questions about the dismissal in May and asked unsuccessfully that Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. make available the head of the department’s Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division for a closed-door briefing on the decision.

In the letter, Mary Patrice Brown, acting OPR counsel, told the veteran congressman from Texas that the office had “initiated an inquiry into the matter” and that it would “contact you with the results of our inquiry once it is completed.” A copy of the letter was obtained by The Washington Times.

It probably would have been a lot better for Mr. Holder if he hadn’t quashed the original inquiry–which smacks of blatant partisanship, because the Black Panthers weren’t there to discourage people from voting for Obama, after all.
