Occupy Planning May Day Disruptions

They’re ba-ack!

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators, whose anti-greed message spread worldwide during an eight-week encampment in Lower Manhattan last year, plan marches across the globe tomorrow calling attention to what they say are abuses of power and wealth.

You mean abuses of power and wealth like $10,000 a (silver) plate pizza dinners, and half a million dollar donations from Swiss bankers and their banks? Somehow, I don’t think Obama will be one of the targets of the Occupiers, which just shows their own ideology.

They’re also planning some potentially life-threatening demonstrations:

In San Francisco, demonstrators intend to hold a rally at the toll plaza of the Golden Gate Bridge from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. local time that “will result in the shutdown,” according to their website.

What happens if, say, an ambulance needs to get across the Golden Gate Bridge, taking a person to the hospitals in San Francisco? What happens to that person if the bridge is shut down? There are other ways to get there, but they’re both long and time consuming, time the patient may not have.

And while we’re at it, isn’t shutting down normal life and commerce what al-Qaida wanted to do too, just like the Occupiers?
